Sous Chef ~ Busy Pub Restaurant ~ Taunton ~ £30,000 + NEG
We're recruiting for an experienced and talented Chef to work as Sous Chef in a great pub restaurant. As Sous Chef you will work along side the Head Chef and manage a small team of 3 chefs, + KP's working 5 days per week (approximately 46 hours per week), taking control of the team in the absence of the Head Chef to ensure the smooth running of the kitchen.
You will assist in designing seasonal menus changed every 3 months to make the most of fresh seasonal produce, the menus should be in keeping with high end pub food featuring classical pub style dishes and rustic fine dining all cooked freshly on site.
You must have experience of working in a high volume outlet and enjoy working in a fast pace kitchen and have ideally worked as Sous Chef previously but this is not essential!

You will enjoy working as a team, be passionate about food and service, understand the importance of using fresh seasonal produce and be keen to build a good trading relationship with suppliers.
You should understand the importance of maintaining a professional kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef and ensuring that high standards are kept.
You will work professionally, calmly and closely within the team and assist the Head Chef in ensuring that they are sufficiently trained to achieve and maintain consistently excellent standards of food and service.
